Christian Growth Ministry
Church Leadership Training
RBI has been supporting Blind students who attend classes at Wesleyan Bible College, in Rosales, Pangasinan. This college offers a five year ministry preparation program for sighted students. Our part is to facilitate the integration of blind students into the program. We provide training for our blind brothers and sisters, and make sure that they have braille versions of all the reading requirements. We also conduct resource computer room wherein the blind students may write their papers and do research for their classes.
With this program, our graduates have been able to do anything the sighted students can do such as preach, conduct Bible studies, teach Sunday School, counsel, sing, lead worship, evangelize, testify, and just about anything else that you would expect from a Bible College graduate.
Home Visitation
There are many blind elderly Filipinos who live isolated and are confined in their homes due to their inabilities. This then leads to making them feel lonely and hopeless.
We at RBI believe that everyone deserves a happy and fulfilling life. As we believe that we are all one community, we do home visitations in the provinces of Tarlac, Pangasinan, Nueva Ecija, and Pampanga. One of our staff, Pastor Ibanez, visits the blind elderly in these places, spreading the word of God, and offering words of encouragement and hope that the Bible talks about. Sometimes, he also arranges special training or care for these blind elderly Filipinos in order to make them feel happy and loved once again.
Youth Fellowship Groups
And Jesus stopped and said, 'Call him here. And they called the blind man, saying to him, "Take courage, arise! He is calling for you." And casting aside his cloak, he jumped up, and came to Jesus. And Jesus said, "What do you want Me to do for you?" - Mark 10:49-51
We believe in following Christ as our main example. We also encourage our blind brothers and sisters establish a personal connection and relationship with God in order to feel His love and grace personally. Sometimes, the best help is facilitating this to our brothers and sisters in need of Christ.
Blind children need to know that God loves them and that they are very valuable in His sight. Every week, Orly Diaz, our Youth Fellowship Director, visits about 120 blind children in different schools and communities around Metro Manila and nearby provinces. His goal is to help strengthen their faith in the God who created them. He brings with him braille scripture portions for each of the children to read on their own. Our hope is that the children will learn to turn to the Lord as a continuing source of strength in the unique difficulties that they will face.
